Sophia Cofino

Actor. Director.

Sophia was born and raised in Vermont where she began in Theatre at the age of 5 and touring professionally by the age of 15. She starred in a touring musical by the age of 18 and her first feature film when she was just 20. Alongside working professionally in theater as an actor, she studied Theater, Film, and Music, at the University of Vermont on a full scholarship. Upon graduating she moved to New York to study Musical Theatre at Circle in the Square conservatory. After many years pursuing Broadway Sophia shfted her focus to directing where she found herself in San Francisco teaching, acting, directing, and developing immersive theatre projects with Antenna Theatre, Annie Sprinkle, SF Playhouse, Gritty City, and Tides Theatre to name a few. After three years touring with Madison Young’s one woman show as her Director, Sophia landed in LA working as a Producer with Jubilee Productions. Sophia has been a professional working actor in theater, musicals, commercials, voiceover and film for over 30 years. She is most passionate about immersive and devised theatre for social change projects. She regularly can be seen performing with Neo Theatre Ensemble and is an avid participant in the Hollywood Fringe Festival as both an actor, producer, and director. Her most current piece is a docu-theatre show of her own creation about Annie Sprinkle’s one woman show: Post Porn Modernist. Did you say a one woman show, about a one woman show, about Post Modernism?! Yes! *nods slowly and knowingly* It is not to be missed!
